Child Behavioural Therapy and
Child Psychologist in NZ
Children & Teenagers
Psychological Therapy
Welcome to a haven of support, nurturing, and growth, where young hearts find solace and minds are nurtured.
As a child psychologist and therapist, I provide psychological therapy and child behavioural therapy for children and teenagers in Whakatāne and throughout New Zealand. This rests on the values of connection, safety, compassion, and non-judgement.
I am trained in a range of therapeutic modalities and using my authentic, intuitive, playful and compassionate approach, I work in a client-centred and eclectic way, meaning I choose what combination of therapy tools to use to best match each unique child I am working with.
My heart-led intention is to Connect and attune with my clients, helping them feel safe and understood, validated, seen, heard, felt, and supported in a compassionate and non-judgmental way. In this context, regulation and healing occurs.
Working from Durie’s Te Whare Tapa Whā model of health and wellbeing, I have an understanding and respect for the interconnectedness of the emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, social, and environmental aspects that impact on our overall health and wellbeing. I tailor my approach to promote overall wellness.

During Psychological Therapy for Children & Teenagers, I will use talking therapy, and/or bodywork at times, to facilitate Holistic Wellness. I work in a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed way.
Our therapeutic sessions take place in the tranquil MindBody Connect space in Thornton Beach, Whakatāne, a space thoughtfully designed to nourish the nervous system and bring peace. We have space to play here too!
At times, and for those who seek it, therapy can extend beyond walls. We have access to nature and the ocean at our doorstep, so our Psychological Therapy for children and teenagers can also take place at the beach, amongst the trees, or in the field, harnessing nature's soothing and healing energy. Let’s face it, it’s often better to play outside!
I accept self-referrals, as well as referrals from GPs and Paediatricians, Healthcare and Wellness Practitioners, Te Whatu Ora (DHB), Oranga Tamariki, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Development, ACC, and other agencies and organisations.
Carer Support funding can be used to fund therapy too. The client is responsible for paying MindBody Connect for the service and claiming back Carer Support funding support.
Please note, I do not work with clients that are suicidal or at risk to others, as well as clients with eating disorders or active substance abuse.
